Villa Marchesa is the perfect villa for a relaxing getaway with friends and family – the property offers exquisite views of the beautiful Maremma region, sophisticated décor, and modern amenities. Family owned for over 100 years, this farmhouse has been carefully restored by the owners, who have extended their restoration to the villa's outdoor grounds, reflecting the architectural and landscape traditions of this fascinating area of Tuscany.

On the ground floor, the communal rooms are spacious and airy, most with access to the outdoor gardens. The villa’s décor is set in a contemporary rustic tone with vibrant, yet earthy hues, woods, and textiles. There is a spacious, modern-style kitchen with custom-made cabinetry and granite flooring; a living room with a fireplace, card tables, and six French doors opening up to the garden; and a dining room with seating for up to 18 guests with an entrance to the front garden and billiard room. There is one twin bedroom with handicap accessibility and access to the garden. On the first floor, there are seven bedrooms, all decorated in bright colors and flowing fabrics, and seven bathrooms, each spacious and comfortable. Another queen bedroom can be found in the third floor of the annex located within steps of the main villa. There is a gym and shower located on the ground floor and a sauna, Jacuzzi, and fireplace on the first floor.

The villa's outdoor areas are generously furnished for relaxing and dining al fresco—perfect spots to enjoy the estate's olive oil, wine, honey and homemade jams. The villa's unique swimming pool is divided elegantly into three different pools, all varying depths and with waterfall. The pool house offers an outdoor bar, large refrigerator, and ice maker. Groups in need of larger accommodations can also rent the adjacent house, Villa Maremmana, which accommodates up to 12.

Villa Marchesa has magnificent grounds that extend over 2300 acres and its own private 12-hole, 10-green golf course. The course is in complete harmony with the environment; surrounded by big cork oaks, bordered by small streams, and landscaped with lovely lakes. For sailing lovers, trips to the islands of the Tuscan archipelago can be arranged on board the estate's yacht. The famous, bustling Punta Ala harbor is 30 minutes away by car. A nearby horseback-riding center offers guided excursions, tennis is a 5-minute drive away, and the spectacular beaches of the Maremma coast are only 30 minutes away by car.

What to do in the Maremma region of Tuscany
This extraordinarily lovely stretch of Italy sits between Rome and Pisa, offering expansive, breathtaking views of the islands of Giglio and Elba. Highlights of the area include the unspoiled fishing village of Castiglione della Pescaia, endless stretches of incomparable beaches, and the medieval village of Massa Marittima. This enchanting cobble-stoned village has become greatly popular and is home to many international artists and socialities. Also worth a visit is the magical and mysterious city of Volterra, with its roots in three thousand years of history. Today the city preserves above all its medieval qualities, not only in its 12th-century city walls, but also in its urban layout with narrow streets, palaces, tower houses and churches. Strongly recommended are visits to the surrounding towns of Populonia and Baratti, Suvereto, Campiglia Marittima, Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri.

Numerous day trip possibilities include the chic harbor of Puntala and the major art cities of Siena, Pisa and Florence. Boat rentals for cruising around the coast are available, and private tours of the region's many acclaimed wineries can be arranged.

Restaurants While in Massa Marittima, stop for an exquisite meal at Osteria del Vecchio Borgo.
